Welcome everyone to our new website.

The Council board 2009 is the 5th batch of student councillors of Sembawang Secondary School. The student council board have been serving the school very well with our upmost pride.

I would like to tell on how our student council board has grown all these years. Our student council board started in the year of 2005. When it first started, we were given the normal projects that all other usual school's student council board would do such as secondary one orientation camp/programme, teacher's day and national day. Since the year 2005, our council executive committee's focus has been growing and shaping our councillors to be strong and exemplary leaders to others and shaping our student councillors to be leaders of tomorrow. Fortunately, we were given a good chance on growing our student councillors by grooming other leaders in overseas and local primary schools. Our first ever project of a leadershape programme was done in the year 2007 with the Canberra Primary School's prefects. The project brought us a great and big success. Having that as a good start, we have been continuously given the great opportunity to continue doing this project over the years from 2008 – 2009. Our councillor's first ever overseas trips were also done in the year of 2007. Our councillors were brought over to KL – Rawang and Indonesia – Karimun for leadership trainings. Through the leadership trainings, we have leant many positive and new skills that would improve all our leadership and character. After these huge successful projects, the school had also placed a huge trust on the student council board by letting us to organise the leadership trips for our own fellow leaders of different levels such as the class committee, CCA leaders and even our Secondary 2 students in the school as our school believes everyone is a leader. Thus, through such a great opportunity, we had successful leadership trainings in Batam in the year 2008.

My Executive Committee 2009 hopes to continue the effort that our pervious Executive members have placed to Excel in all ways to shape our student councillors to be great leaders of tomorrow.

Thank You.

Chairman of SMB Student Council Board 2009,
Christy Koh Jun Qin
